Teach your monster to read + Competition News

Yes we all know none of our kids are actually monsters but there is now a fun new website that does help them with their reading: Teach your Monsters to Read

the new free game is a great new way of helping your children to read.

The game which has been developed for the charity Usborne Foundation is aimed to develop children's speed and accuracy of letter recognition.

If you want to know more about playing the game, here are some screen shots of the demo - where you can start on the game but can't save your progress. To save, you must register but remember its all free.

Car loved the game and we may be signing up to go to the other islands once we come back from holidays.

Currently there is also a competition running over at the Teach Your Monster to Read blog

All you have to do is get your little monsters darlings children to draw a picture of a monster, then send a photograph of the  monster drawing to competitions@teachyourmonstertoread.com
by the 9th November.

The prizes are: 1st prize: £150 worth of Usborne books of your choice*
2nd and 3rd prizes: £25 worth of Usborne books of your choice*
* Subject to availability, of course!
