Review : Maverick Books

We do love a good book in our house and Car's shelves are full of fantastic picture books but she doesn't like rereading books too much so its great when we have a chance too replenish the stocks and read some new books.

Thank you to @Maverick Books who sent us these two. Both picture books are of lovely quality and the stories are ones that I think we will revisit.

The Pet Itch is written by first time author Elli Woollard with illustrations by Elina Ellis. Both the rhyming story and the wonderful illustrations make the story a fabulous tale of what happens when Mossy the monster wants a pet. Find out what happens when his sister helps him with his wants....

"What Mossy the monster most wanted to get
in the whole wide world was a small pesty pet.
A pet like an itch with a horrible howl
that would grizzle and grumble and guzzle and growl"

The Bunny that couldn't be found is written by Angela Mitchell and illustrated by Sarah Horne. Fans of Angela Mitchell will recognise Princess Lolly from The Jelly that wouldn't Wobble.

The story focuses around mistaken identity and the hilarious search that follows. The book made Car laugh a lot and she couldn't wait to tell everyone that she knew what the secret was!

Both books can be found on Amazon at about £6.99
