Crunch, Crunch Yum Yum - Walkers Mighty Lights review
Crisps are the go to snack in our house and we love them. I may be a bad mummy because the kids will have crisps on a daily basis but it keeps them happy.I do worry about the amount of fat in them but thanks to the new Mighty Lights crisps from Walkers, my worries are disappearing.
Walkers Mighty Lights are ridged crisps and have 30% less fat than those other crisps. We normally buy Walkers so I checked out the pack of normal compared to Mighty Lights.
Walkers Home Grown Roast Chicken crisps 129kcal , 7.6g fat for 25g
Walkers Mighty Lights Roast Chicken crisps 114 kcal, 4.7g fat for 25g
Good going on the fat there and less calories too.
When the box arrived, the husband saw them and said oh no they're low fat, they're going to be horrible and wasn't going to try them (he is our crisp aficionado!) but loved them.
The crisps come in three flavours all of which someone in the house will eat - Roast Chicken, Lightly Salted and Cheese and Onion. You'll have to take the word of everyone else that the Cheese and Onion are great as it is my most hated flavour! All the flavours are suitable for vegetarians and are made from real potato with no artificial colours, preservatives or MSG. They are also a good source of fibre and so it may not be all bad that the kids get a pack a day!
We did finally let the kids try them and they thought they were great. It is definitely a product that we will buy and eat again as a family and has been added to my shopping list already, especially the Lightly Salted as they are now a family favourite.
If there wasn't a label on them to say the were fat free, I don't think you would notice. There is no difference in the flavouring of the product and the taste has not been compromised. The crisps come in a smaller bag which is ideal for lunchboxes or an after school snack! Even though the bag is smaller it does fill you up.
If you are looking for an extra tasty product to add to your kids lunchboxes this September then these great little bags will make them smile.
