Summer Holiday Fun

Well with Christmas (yes I know you all dread hearing that - sorry) nearly upon us, I think its time I looked back on the summer holidays. As you all know, we were lucky enough to have not one but two holidays this year (Peak District Camping  and our time in Winchester).

The Peak District was full of many free things to do including our walk into Dovedale, views, stepping stones, screaming kids and ducks. I find it great being able to take the kids outdoors, wellies and waterproofs (optional) and allow them to run wild. Bel did some climbing and Car nearly made me mad but fun was had by all.

Ducks (as usual - I'll explain some other time) seem to have had an impact on our holiday in Winchester too with the girls loving not just the park but the fact that the many rivers had many ducks on to feed.  Even walking through Winchester my girls were happy, (I think I may have many years of not so free shopping ahead!!). But not only did we visit the park we visited the New Forest, a national park not far away from Winchester in which most of the afternoon was spent adventuring, looking for the wild ponies , walking through the woods and having general fun!!

wild cows in grass (yes I thought they were ponies too!!)

The best thing about being on holiday though is getting to eat out - and were best than Pizza Hut - especially with their Kids Eat Free offer. This offer which ran all through the summer has now been extended to January 9 2011. Whilst in Winchester we used the offer and it was great - For every adult main course or adult lunchtime buffet purchased, an accompanying child can choose from either a FREE 2 course kids meal (includes a drink) or a FREE kids lunchtime buffet (includes pizza, pasta and salad).

Find more details about the offer at http://bit.ly/a1DhgJ

Not only is this a fabulous offer, but also on the bottom of every receipt you will find a special code which when entered into www.pizzahut.co.uk  will give you great deals on a wide range of family activities and adventures including holidays, theme parks, zoos and more.

So happy adventuring and pizza eating!!

  1. I love the New Forest. I spend so many happy holidays there as a kid! Despite you telling me they are not I still think those cows look suspiciously like ponies!
