Date Night

(Before I start this post, I have a confession to make - this was meant to be part of the Mystery blog swap over at The Sardine Tin, but life and dead laptop prevented this from being done. So, a huge sorry to everyone!!)

------------

So, being skint all the damned time, or tired, or ill, or having lack of babysitters we don't tend to go out together as a couple very often. I can't honestly tell you when we went out, just me and Neb on our own.
But what we tend to do, at least once a month is have a date night. So, here are some of my do's and dont's for date night (and also what really happens!)

Do: make sure that you have completely knackered your children out before they go to bed. This may involve running so make sure that if you are tired to have a shower or wake me up wash before date night begins.(this is not a fail safe method, it is normal that when you are sat down for romantic evening, one or both children will wake up at some point in the night, maybe more than once, children may at some point decide to have the vomits and spoil any mood by vomiting everywhere)

Do: buy wine (or cheap cider), nibbles and have a nice meal  (or as normally happens, eat scraps off kids plates, miss supper, drink copious amounts of wine, have lots of laughs and chats, no supper and fall into bed/each others arms drunk!!)

Do: decide prior to the evening what film you are going to watch, we tend to get something off Sky Box Office (try and make it a film suitable for both of you, otherwise I will get bored and will fall asleep)

Do:  have the date night on a Saturday night (otherwise wifey (me) will fall asleep on sofa, dribbling!)

Don't : let husband answer his mobile/house phone as it will be one of the boys asking if he fancies a night out, he will normally say yes and then any chance of smooching will disappear out the window.

Don't:  run out of alcohol, or drink too fast, arguments may follow.....

And that's it folks, that's my date night do's and dont's. If you have any to add, please leave them in the comments below
